Challenges to Indian Democracy: Nuclearisation, Militarisation, State Violence

August 30-31, New Delhi, INDIA

Dear Friends,

In the backdrop of intesifying assaults on people’s movements and freedom of expression, people of grassroots struggles, eminent intellectuals and academicians, and civil society activists are converging in New Delhi this weekend to highlight and discuss the challenges to the Indian democracy.

The eminent names include Medha Patkar, P Sainath, Binayak Sen, Jean Dreze, Praful; Bidwai, Achin Vanaik, Dr. S P Udayakumar, Admiral L. Ramdas, Lalita Ramdas, Reetika Khera, Subhash Gatade, Bimol Akoijam, Seema Mustafa, Aditya Nigam, Amar Kanwar, Karamat Ali, Vrinda Grover, Nandini Sunder, Nivedita Menon and Kavita Krishnan. Detailed programme and concept note are attached with this invitation.

The National Convention will be held in the Constitution Club of India, Rafi Marg on August 30-31st 2014, from 9.30am to 5.00pm.
